I never really wanted to write a post on this.. but the kinda reactions that are comin from all over prompted me doing so...
First of all.. if u're a devout fan of SRK, i advise you to skip readin this n do somethin else.. you mite hate me for reading this.. but honestly, i dont care.. go ahead if you dont care either...
The media is to be blamed for all this hype.. damn.. you idiots.. why do you just believe or follow what SRK has to say.. agreed that he was pissed off with wat happened and quite obviously a lot of fans are disappointed too.. but its a known fact that these rules ARE strict in the US.. and there's no reason to go ga-ga over this incident.. agreed that he had to spend 2 hours at the airport while he was being "checked".. agreed that he's the superstar of Bollywood.. agreed that his plans got delayed by 2 hours.. but at the end, i've only one question to SRK and all his supporters.. SO WHAT...??
USA is one country to which a lot of people would love to go to.. goin there is a dream for hell a lot of people for watever reasons they have.. everyone loves what USA can offer them with.. so wat's wrong when they are just being extra careful.. i would rather say just careful.. afterall its their own country.. n no one there gives 2 damns about what or who you are in your own country.. its their duty to have everything checked before they let a person into their country.. why do you create such a news about it... n why do you have to go on national television saying you were humiliated...!!?? didnt you see how humble our former President Kalam was...?? he never told anyone about it.. infact, the incident came to news after more than a month it happened and that too not from Kalam himself.. that is wat wise people do.. that is wat intellectuals do... and wat happened in the end.. the airlines apologised to him.. (but i would not say the US authorities would have apologised to SRK even if he had not raised this issue on his own.. he's no President or somethin to be exempted from being frisked and more importantly the airport authorities did their job for god's sake).. n the airlines themselves have gone public saying Kalam was very cooperative and the entire process went without any hassle.. that is the kinda respect you get when you're wise and humble... even Mammootty was detained earlier this year because he has "Ismail" in his name.. but he too was wise enough to go through the checks without creatin any issues...
You have a "khan" in your name.. and it jus happens to be suspicious for them.. so jus let go.. wats the big deal.. they cant let u in jus like that coz you've "Shahrukh" before "khan"... rather.. you should be ashamed that such level of strictness is not followed in India.. people there at the immigration centre were vouching for you that you're a celebrity.. but that alone cant be the reason that they can jus let u in... if thats the case, there wudnt be anyone at the immigration centre.. atleast frm the authorities' perspective..
Wat irritated me the most were the kinda statements frm the so-called bollywood fraternity.. agreed that they cant talk the other way.. but why dont you prefer to remain silent than talkin nonsense...
Juhi Chawla said "this is like Brad Pitt being strip-searched, investigated and interrogated in India".. dont worry honey.. that'll never happen with the way Indian authorities treat celebrities.. and you should be proud if that happens at all..!!
Priyanka Chopra said "SRK's a world figure for god's sake, get real".. ahh.. i see where you're gettin at.. DON alone didnt fulfill ur wishes eh.. want one more movie with him...??
Farah Khan said "If he can be discriminated, who else is left? Shah Rukh was on Time Magazine's 50 Most Influential People List. It is not only discrimination but lack of knowledge also.".. hmmm.. best friend eh...??
Kabir Khan said "Shah Rukh just happens to be a superstar so we took notice of it. It is happening everyday. You just type his name on Google and you get more hits than Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise combined.".. uh huh.. really...?? i can get the numbers too.. now lets get them rite...
Google search:
"tom cruise" gives 28,900,000 results
"brad pitt" gives 25,400,000
"shahrukh khan" gives 4,110,000
"srk" gives 3,660,000
"shah rukh khan" gives 5,200,000
"shahrukh" gives 4,270,000
"shah rukh" gives 6,580,000
all these variations together doesnt even add up to 24 million.. which is more than a million less than "brad pitt" alone..
now we know why "New York" movie was a huge huge blockbuster huh...!!
Irrfan Khan is a nice dude.. he preferred to stay away frm any idiotic reaction.. he said "We should point out loopholes in their airport security system".. kinda "rite.. watever.." his name is Khan too n he's been subjected to friskin.. so he's the one who can be realistic..
n finally Karan Johar said somethin too.. but i didnt bother to read it.. u know who he is/what he is.. or u know.. watever...
All this for wat.. jus for being made to wait till the clearance is obtained.. n he was not strip-searched.. he was not investigated or interrogated.. he was not frisked.. nor he was not asked to remove his damn shoes.. so where is the need for this cheap behaviour...!!??
Afterall.. you wanted to be in the USA for Indian Independence Day.. and you regret later sayin you should have been in India for the freedom you have here.. and end up gettin cheap publicity for your next movie... no wonder you are a witty person...!!!
But didnt you even think for a moment how nice it would have been of you had you jus let go.. and later let someone else raise the issue.. n u reactin to it sayin "Wat's the big deal..!!??"
